Hmm, definitely sounds like it's nothing to do with the 400 - the DNS entry is just an entry like any other, so if it can't resolve one it shouldn't be able to resolve any - I'd be carefully going over your WIN2000 DNS server. I'd be interested in hearing the resolution to this problem too.
