Try to eliminate the hub by using a cross over cable.

I gonna try to take it out of the network, Monday night, and see what
happens.
Only the two AS/400s linked together by a 10/100M hub. That should be the
shortest distance I can get! AS/400 to AS/400, no other computer in between!
