Add this one to the list of AS/400 FTP horror stories. Maybe someone on this list can tell us all a bit more about the IP services on the AS/400. In the meantime, consider this.. Configure a switched APPC controller on each machine and use SNADS to send the SAVF as a network file with SNDNETF. You will also have to create distribution entries and queues to complete the SNA configuration. OS/400 still does what it was designed to do better. The two systems are side by side, connected through a 10 mg hub. Testing the process take EXTREMELY long time.The *SAVF contains 905,985 records (records are 528 long). 9 hours after the start of the process the job display shows only 50,000 I/Os. I can FTP between my PC and the server at a much faster rate through a simple modem-to-modem connection (capable of 56k).
