The same kind of scenario occurs for BPCS & many other packages. You can buy software packages that transmit to sessions that were left signed on the relevant function keys to take the job to a proper conclusion ... You have to know the application .. which needs F3 F24 or whatever. http://www.precosis.com.au/rv1.htm let's you look in the job stack to see the actual program the user was at & in this scenario, transmit the commands to take the actual program to a menu & even sign off from there. We also have scenario where management would like to have equipment powered off when not in use, like on long weekends ... I believe the equipment should be powered on during the day when people are using it & powered off between 5 pm or whenever they leave & 8 am next day & that this makes the life span of the equipment generally longer. I have shown managers how to read WRKCFGSTS F14 so that "all those sessions that show ACTIVE or SIGN ON SCREEN" that means they are currently powered on & I betcha those people have gone home for the day. In BPCS, the "batch in use" data is in a file in a particular place that we can get to via query & run a report ... here is all the stuff that is hung up because ... once a week after everyone gone for the day, I run that report & unhang the stuff. > From: ddetz@zinccorp.com > We have a situation that users are leaving their terminals on while in JDE. > > This is causing us to get a "Batch in Use" error.
