I studied triggers in the IBM data base & SQL/400 classes. I do not use any, so this is from memory. You can have business rules in your data base file description. Anyone accessing file for update ... trigger program is like a trip wire, it captures image of records before & after whatever the update program wants to do, and has the option of reversing the action, capturing audit trail, lots of stuff. If you have trigger programs on your AS/400 & no one at your company understands them then you are in deeper doo doo than issue of connecting to Mind Spring. > From: sbundy@ix.netcom.com (Sigrid Bundy) > > Hi Everybody, > > We are trying to establish a PPP dial-up connection between our AS/400 and > Mindspring (Earthlink).
