You're one up on me. The 3 year EMO we bought from IBM does not cover the 
UPS. That is supposedly a separate agreement with Best that the BP forgot 
to tell us about.

The closest I got to "official" was this message from Al Barsa in the 
archives from last year:

This pretty much convinced me it was a "known" defect.
Now I don't know for sure the date range on the "first generation" 9910's 
or if mine would fit that time period or not. Mine was delivered in March 1999.

If you get a chance, search the midrange-L archives for UPS or 9910 and 
tell me if it looks to be more than just a coincidence!
