Count me in on the victims as well. 9910-140 went to sleep with no warning, no brownouts, nothing. The 170 had no clue.
Of course it was 14 months old and out of the wimpy one year warranty.
I spoke my piece with Best and IBM and the best they can offer is if I will pony up the $$ for a two or three year extended warranty they might can retro-warranty it. I pointed out that it was a known defect (I found a few old posts about this same problem) and technically it was broke the day I bought it. If I have to spend money it will not be on any product Best power makes.
