Chris,

They decompress objects in the background.  When you install an upgrade of
the OS, nearly everything that can be compressed is, but much of that stuff
needs to be decompressed before use.  Those jobs are doing that for you, so
that you won't take a big hit the first time you use each object.

Does any one know what function these jobs perform?  We just upgraded from
4.3 to 4.4 and they are hogging 75% of the cpu for the last hour.
