Hey I have a great idea... either that or I hit my head on my way out of bed this morning :-) What is a XWindows client were ported to the AS/400? Then you could have host based editing with a linux/unix/window/dos/who knows what else Xterminal and have all the GUI stuff a person could ever want! Now that PASE is a reality perhaps it would not be too hard to port X11 ( Perhaps using XFree-86 as a starting point?) to the AS/400??? Once that is done I could see a slew of editors and applications popping up on the AS/400. Would it take more CPU resourses, you bet but processor cycles are getting cheaper all the time. Just thought I would pipe in since you all haven't heard from me in a while :-) Eric +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
