I'm not particularly keen on using a PC for editing per se, but neither am I adamant about keeping one off my desk. I used and loved Xedit on VM (green screen, dumb terminal) GUI? I can take or leave it. I used (and loved!) Flex/Edit when Paul Conte first released it - for DOS. For me, SEU (not green screen) is a terrible editor - there's no automation in it at all.
