Hello,

we are currently migrating our network from tokenring to ethernet. We
already have an ethernet backbone and our 620 is
connected to both lans.

On a second site, we have a small t/r with a 5494 attached, going to the
main site by leased line and routers (CISCO 2500).
The 5494 connects to the t/r adapter of the AS/400, but I need it to go to
the ethernet card.

I tried to configure the 5494, but couldn't get it connecting. I've been
told by IBM that I might have to translate the
adapter adress to ethernet format - but which one or both? I have two
adapter adr on the config screen ( the adress of the
5494 and the AS/400 adress).

I tried several variations, but couldn't get the 5494 to connect. On the
operator panel, it gave SRC 460/0 540404.

Any suggestions or tips on this?

Thanx,

Oliver
