Use wrkdsksts and F11 to know your disk protection.

 

If downtime is a concern,  do it in two steps, maybe two weekends. 

 

If you don't have any prereq. in hardware, do hardware first.  This will make the software upgrade faster and you don't have any problems with software going out of whack because of PTF's or changes on software.

You need to study this screen at both the ASP level and at the disk level.  IBM builds raided systems as mirrored also, which is a throwback to the days when the MFIOP could not be raided.
