> We have just recently migrated from a S/36 to AS/400 We converted in 1998 from S/36 to AS/400 & we used some packaged tools to convert our internally described code to externally described DDS. As I recall, we paid like $1600.00 for Pro Gen ... I can check the office to get the exact product name ... if did an intelligent search of our OCL to identify which RPG accessed which file names, then from there we were able to cut & paste internal definition source lines into its dictionary of file layouts, then when we were happy with the definition editing .... we had to fill in the blank spots & resolve redefinition where 400 does not support everything we were doing on 36 ... the thing generated DDS for us & also we had the option to generate code to copy the 36 data into the new 400 externally described files, appropriately populated in the right fields & with all the decimal data errors erradicated - it was easy to modify to eliminate records coded for deletion while we were at it. I understand that there are several packages on the market that do similar services.
