I worked at a site that runs a human resource application that allows
employees to change their payroll information. Stuff like address changes
and requesting vacations. They have over 90,000 users with 2,000 to 5,000
signed on at any given point in time. The tech support guys wrote an exit
program that automatically spawns a new subsystem every time they exceed 256
users in the current subsystem. It is a little elaborate but works well.
Anyone that is interested send me personal email and I'll pass it on to a
friend of mine there.
