On one of my systems there are 450 QPADEV* devices allocated to QINTER along
with 50-60 regular dumb terminals.  The QPADEV* devices are connecting through
Client Abcess NT or Express and I think some or most users are closing them with
the X in the corner without first signing off.  Anyway, the problem some of you
experts need to help me with is that it takes 20 minutes to end QINTER every
night for backups.  Hundreds of these devices get a pattern of messages as
follows:

 Error on device QPADEV00BL.  Device response code is 6155.
 Vary off completed for device QPADEV00BL.
 Subsystem QINTER varied off work station QPADEV00BL.


IBM is no help.  They say to split into multiple sbs's with a couple hundred in
each one.  Maybe that's the answer but I'd like a second or third or fourth.....
 opinion.
