>It looks to me as if JD Edwards is backing away from the full >Client Server model and starting to pay more attention to tried >and true AS/400 solutions. Is that how you read it? > >It reminds me of a post from someone asking if there was anyone >who had fully implemented OneWorld. The poster specifically said >he wasn't interested in talking to anyone who was in the process >of implementing, just someone who had completed the job. My following of the JDE OneWorld (the C/S product) mailing lists shows a lot of companies spending a lot of time and money trying to get OneWorld working, and also keeping it working. A lot of World (AS/400) customers were not looking forward to being forced off the AS/400 into a unstable product running on unstable platforms. JDE financial position is not one such that JDE should be ticking-off their loyal AS/400 customers, perhaps forcing them to move to another company's product, rather than another JDE product. It seems they have finally realized this.
