Careful; don't confuse the technology with some doofus' lack of ability.

I've seen HORRIBLE AS/400 code, I've seen elegant BASIC (in DOS) code. I've
seen beautiful RPG II, I've seen HORRENDOUS Visual Basic (uh ... mine <g>).

Techology DOES NOT MATTER! Marketing does!

because the company doesn't want it known that they messed up.  and they
won't admit it, even to themselves.

even if the response time is 3 minutes, hey, it's gui, right!

we have a client that had an in house programmer write an interface for
our maintenance, and a p/c application in access.  i'd heard how
wonderful it was, etc.  well when i saw it for real, it took 5 minutes
to call the thing up.  i was shocked, i'd have been tarred and
feathered.
