We get this for and generally one of the following 3 reasons.

1.  PC is not "seeing" the AS/400 (easily verified by trying to ping as/400
from client PC).

2.  User profile has a job description attached to it and jobd does not
exist.

3.  User has a client access printer session thus a virtual controller and
the controller is in RCYPND.  Vary off and back on, reconnect, everything
ok.

We are very new to the AS/400 platform and are in the process of porting
our Domino Admin Application from NT to the AS/400.  Our box is here and
our developer is remote.   The developer as well as ourselves have been
unable to initiate successful client access as we get the following error:
"Cwbsys1000- communication error while validating security information on
system AS400".

Any pushes in the right direction would be appreciated.  Thank you.
