Hi all

Does anybody on the list is using a smart UPS which controls the AS/400 via
TCP/IP signals and NOT via the standard serial connection?

The reason comes from our need to change the UPS for our 4 AS/400 systems
and several servers. For now, even if all the AS/400s are on the UPS, only
one has the serial link and the procedure to interpret its signals for a
smart shutdown.

Meanwhile, most new UPS are shipped with shared serial hubs that can manage
control signals for up to 8 AS/400 systems. Instead, we would prefer to have
this control via IP signals, as it works for all other platforms.
Unfortunately, most suppliers cannot answer to this question when it comes
to the AS/400 ...

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks
