It's one of two things. One, they might need *JOBCTL. Two, even if they have *JOBCTL they might not be able to look at the joblog IF the job is running under a profile which has *ALLOBJ. Try not to have jobs submitted under profiles which have *ALLOBJ. This is a common thing in many shops - especially in scheduled jobs. For cases in which it is perceived that *ALLOBJ is needed try having the particular program doing that task adopt authority instead. However, once the job is complete, the have no trouble viewing the joblog. The programmers have *JOBCTL and *SPLCTL, and not *ALLOBJ. (This may have worked back in the days when they had *ALLOBJ, but I sure hope *ALLOBJ isn't what's needed!) Any ideas on why they can view the joblog only after the job has completed?
