What if you create the logical with a different name, rename the current LF,
then rename the new LF back to the original LF name.   You would only have
to take your users off long enough to do the renames and the creation time
of the new LF should be next to nothing as it will share the access path of
the original and not have to re-create the access path.  The new LF will
become the owner of the access path when the original is deleted.
