First off, understand this falls under the "would be nice to have" category.

The discussion was how to change the column headings for a database file's
fields, not just for your WRKDBF display, but for any display of the file's
column headings, as if you changed the DDS COLHDG and recompiled the file.

According to a few others here, SQL uses 'Label On' to do this.  No
recompiles necessary, no level checks, etc.

One of those "when you have free time" thingys.  <g>

For those of us who deal with packaged software (and I'm sure some
home-grown software also "qualfies"), it would be much easier to do it this
way than to change the DDS source and recompile/CHGPF (with all its dangers
regarding dependent files).  I believe the SQL Label On can be used while
the file is in use.  Anybody confirm?
