Man, I love this list!!!!

Would love to see letter. Do not have SQL (Yet).

Thanks to all who replied, I thought compiling with just col hdg chg would
not cause level check and this list confirmed that. It was my choice of
last resort though as the file in question has 39 members of 15000-20000
records each, 3 lf's with 39 members and tons of programs that use the file.

Again, thanks all and to Rob for his help.

Quite easily done, with no negative ramifications. Use
SQL. Look up the 'LABEL ON' statement. Don't have SQL
you say? No problem, reply and I'll post a letter here
that I posted to the RPG400 list. Too bad that one doesn't
have archives like this one. All the more reason I detest
it when people ask non RPG questions on that list.

Any chance of WRKDBF getting this functionality?

Is there a way to do this without changing the DDS, recompiling the pf/lf
and all programs. In doing so will it cause a level check?
