On the 620 (?) I'm using right now there IS a CD burner.

Acording to the System Handbook you also CAN - on the expansion unit
#7101 of a model 170 - put an #2729 Removable Media Controller that
should be able to connect the 3995 Optical device. 
Then again - I do not say that this is a inexpencive solution.
