I've used the Internet to do the equivalent. Those people are clueless. The garbage you have to go through to get your PC connected. The myriad icons and garbage to wade through. How extremely slow to go through each part. The actual transmission is ok though. I think the slow part is just an inherent part of Client/Server, or at least IBM's interpretation of it. And then it only half heartedly updates WRKPRB. Again an example of how they refuse to study the past. I showed them another web site they had. This site is used for ordering PTF's on media. Excellent tracking available. Gives you three emails: order placed, order packaged (and Airborne waybill #), order shipped (again with the Airborne waybill#). The people who wrote the download didn't know how to do the tracking if a PTF was too big and had to come on media. Maybe IBM needs to learn how to modularize their code. Maybe they need to hire people who can read. Maybe they need to design web sites that are not so convoluted that even their own employees can't even find stuff. barsa2@ibm.net on 04/19/2000 03:32:49 PM Please respond to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com@Internet cc: Fax to: Subject: Re: Web Tech Support At 09:43 AM 04/19/2000 -0500, you wrote: >And if the 400 is supposed to be such an E commerce server >then why can't you configure SNDPTFORD to use the Internet? You can use the Internet to do the equivalent ( however I feel that the process is neither intuitive nor reliable). Let's us note that there are many people who disagree with me. What can I say, likely I'm just a stupid user. (Remember, "user" is a four letter word.) IBM made some noise about asking me about my feelings, but they have not followed up.
