If you have the ASC - SEQUEL product you can use SEQUEL to query a file with the output in Excel format to a directory in QDLS:
For example:
EXECUTE SQL('SELECT * FROM MY400FILE') TOFLR(AXXX) +
TODOC(MYWS.XLS) PCFMT(*XLS) REPLACE(*YES)

Subject: AS/400 to Excel Data Transfer
Hi Falks,
The present way of automating an AS/400 DB2 file to be transfered as an Excel worksheet is using the IBM's Client Access. Is there any other way we could have this done w/o using Client Access. For example, can we use Rumba/400? Or is there any other way doing this?
Nimal.
