Re: Poor IFS performance? (The answer / not a rant)

Patrick, have you another file server on the LAN that you could try the 
same thing on an Novell, Apache, OS/2, or NT server too?  I ask because I 
wonder if the NIC cards or router might be part of the issue?  The local 
drive would certainly be fastest but my gosh 4 minutes seems slow by any 
measurement.

Here are the timings:

   PC version (local hard drive):       25 seconds
   PC version (mapped IFS drive):       4 minutes 8 seconds
   AS/400 version (IFS drive):          4 minutes 14 seconds
