Phil - 

Here's the difference.  At least for me.

I do shareware.  I'm not a vendor, per say.  It's a hobby.  It's affordable.
It works.  I only post it as a reply to someone who asks a question as to
how to do something.  I don't randomly post, like recruiters do.  Others on
the list are interested in what each of us is doing, whether it is writing
software, writing books, etc.  Lurkers that just post their vended software
and don't offer any technical assistance and recruiters that just find the
list and post here thinking they've found a "gold mine" I agree are
annoying.

Anyone else?
