When did XML start??

Would you believe 1996????

BE aware of TRENDS, be WARY of FADS.

Who said "scrap everything"?? Put an XML "front end" on your RPG stuff if
necessary.

XML DTD's exist for stuff you would not believe! For example, there is an
XML standard for Math. Imagine needing some complex calculation. Don't write
it; use XML to communciate with a supercomputer at MIT to get your results.

Want to send a document -- electronically -- to another location and have it
"electronically signed" and sent back? XML standard is there.

Want to send music? XML.
Maps? XML.
Geographical data? XML.

Oh the possibilities are incredible.

RPG allows remote procedure calls, think about that. (

Why scrap everything you have built just so you can be proficient with
the current shiny new computer thingy?
Be aware of trends, but don't be swayed. Bandwagon jumpers are the
consultants best friend.
