Dave --

My SQL Server 4.21 manual, page 162, details how to do this.

I don't have it here; it's at home. I'll send the details on Wednesday
morning if no one else answers before then.

Subject: SQL Pivot

Somewhere, a long time ago, I read a message detailing how to write an SQL
statement that would do something on the order of an Excel Pivot function.
For example, I would like to print a year's worth of transactional data in
12 monthly columns - across the page, not down.

Anyone recall how to do that?

The file contains: ITNBR (15 char), TRANDATE (*DATE), QTY (7,0 packed).

I would like it to print out as:

Item____________ Jan. Feb. Mar., etc.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX X,XXX,XXX X,XXX,XXX X,XXX,XXX

Thanks,
Dave
