As usual, you make sense James W. I'd add though that if you take those
24 programmers and spend most of those 16 hours per day on education and
practice programs and applications, it will not be long before they know
each other, and RPG. They will begin churning out gobs of good, coherent
code in a few months and after 2 years they will be a force to be reckoned
with in the market place.

I am not suggesting this is a bad thing by the way, just that it is a
likely course of events. We can welcome this new talent into the RPG
community or we can be Luddites. One of our concerns has been the
"graying of COMMON" hasn't it? Well, here's the new blood. The fact that
it makes us uncomfortable may be a goodthing(tm).

Booth,

Digging ditches? That example may not make a whole bunch of difference,
24 cooks in the pot writing software, well I've had 24 programmers and
there's no way on God's earth I would ever let them all work on the same
project at the same time! That's akin to juggling cats :)

Welcome to the new millennium.
