Recently an old ongoing problem has reared it's ugly head and caused me
fits - that of rogue users running queries interactively during normal
business hours. This of course results in numerous complaints about
response time, etc. As I recall from way back then, there really wasn't
a whole lot one could do to stop or restrict these miscreants.

Bob

Make a duplicate of the IBM RUNQRY in another library, During the signon program
add a CHGSYSLIBL to force this library to the top of their library list.
You then change the evironments in that RUNQRY command is allowed by removing
interactive using chgcmd.

                             Change Command (CHGCMD)

 Type choices, press Enter.

 Where allowed to run . . . . . . ALLOW *IMOD
                                                 *BMOD
                                                 *IREXX
                                                 *BREXX
                                                 *BPGM
                                                 *IPGM
                                                 *EXEC
                                                 *INTERACT <<<<<<<<<<<Remove
                                                 *BATCH

Your programmers still can use the interactive mode because they won't have this
Cmd in their library list. I like command changes in a separate library
because then they are reminder to change when the Version is upgraded. If they
have a lot of authority to commands and might figure how to undo the library
change, revoke *Public authority to the IBM RUNQRY command.
