Try having a seperate room for the cocktail party. It offers your guests a way to leave the messy room and start new once the reception begins. I prefer a piano player during the cocktail hour. As for the computer problem, maintenance can be a problem with that sort of file. I suggest a file that has a record in it when the job is active. Delete the record when the job isn't. That way, in the event of an abnormal end, you can just clear the file. eric.delong@pmsi-services.com Sent: Wednesday, August 11, 1999 4:42 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Can PC detect active job? One of our FoxPro developers is rewriting part of our EDI system. He needs a method to check if a process is active. He has requested that this be an ODBC solution (no ADO). The only idea I've had that seems plausible is a log file that stores job starting and ending timestamps for the process he wants to monitor. Any other ideas? Please respond to the following address as I'm taking a few days off for my wedding. All ideas are appreciated.
