Same in Western KY.  I am in Southwest KY, about 2 hrs from Nashville, Tn
(the nearest "real" city).  It took me 4 months to find my first AS/400
person and then that was only because a recruiter found someone living in
Fla. who had family here and was looking to move back to area.  It took me
another 4 months to find the second and that was a local person who had been
trained by another local company.

Here in the midsouth (Memphis TN area) there is a shortage of talented AS400
people. Unfortunately this area is lacking in an educational resource for
such talent as well. Fix one, and we will probably fix the other. Here in
Jonesboro, (NE Arkansas...pop 51,000) where I actually am there is and has
been about 2-3 openings available for several months.
