I guess at some point in time you need to factor in the hassle factor.  How
much time and frustration are you spending messing with this type of
arrangement.  Wouldn't you rather have an application that just works all
the time from the 400 and can be scheduled so a person doesn't have to think
about it.  It sometimes amazes me how much time companies waste trying to
save a few bucks.
