RE: EDI Translator wanted

I thought XML and published DTDs were going to remove the need for
translators.

Is XML still too far off?

        Can anyone make a recommendation for a low cost EDI translator?

        The high prices of AS/400 translator's from Premenos and Sterling
are
        causing us to look elsewhere.

        Customer needs to do 856 & 210 transactions right now, possible many
more
        transactions soon.

        We would like to have a PC act as an "EDI Server" where we could put
our
        flat files into a network directory or shared folder, have the PC
wake up,
        translate it, and stick the translated file back out on the network.

        Then our AS/400 could send the file on its way.
