Right on! (: I've said a couple of times that an IS department could gain a LOT of good will if they could dedicate an entry level programmer to those 'nice to have' enhancements and projects that are just too insignificant for anyone to waste time on. For example, a program to let anyone key in a name and address and have a dedicated printer spit out a FedEx or UPS overnight label? No scrounging for a pen, and you can do it from your desk where you have the information at your fingertips. If you wander through your company, there are dozens of little fixes or enhancements that could save users so much drudgework time that you'd have everyone who actually works in your company worshiping the ground you walk on, if not actually kissing your feet.
