Your setup looks fine. To troubleshoot, end on of the printers with the problem. Do a CHGOUTQ prompt(F4) and fill in all the necessary values for that printer(Press F10 or Enter to see rest of parameters). If it works fine, then you must reinstall the HP driver or the printer can not fully support page range printing option (it means the printer does not fully support the PCL included in the HP driver *HPPJLDRV on your AS/400). Look at option 2 below carefully and compare with you configuration.

Subject: Re: Intermittent problems with printing to IP connected printersQuestions:
1. Are you using DEVD and STRPRTWTR or CHG OUTQ to configure your IP
printers?
[Diana Hicks] I used the CRTDEVPRT to create the printers.
2. Are you using HP printers above HPIV, IBM 42xx network printers, Dot
Matrix or Impact printers?
[Diana Hicks] The HP printers I've seen these problems on are HP4MV and
HP4. BTW, they have token ring jet direct cards.
3. What is your OS version?
[Diana Hicks] OS/400 is at V4R3.Possible Answers:
1. Corrupt printer driver on the OS400.
2. AS/400 configuration for IP printers should be made to recognize
printing from network PC printing (printing sequence).
3. Possible configuration parameters setup incorrectly.

We are experiencing two intermittent problems with our IP connected
printers. The first is spool files occasionally go to a PND status and never prints.
Other print jobs to the same printer submitted later print even though the
one stays in PND. I've tried stopping and restarting the printer as well asputting the spool file on hold and releasing it. It just stays in printer
limbo. The second problem is the CPA403D "Operator action required on device" error
message. It always occurs on the last page number in the spool file and all
the pages have printed. Also, it holds up all the other spool files for
that printer until the message is answered. It does not happen all the timeeither.
Does anyone know how to resolve these problems or even why they occur?
