  • Subject: Alias Field Names in RPG programs

Hi All,

If I have a physical file with 2 fields and both of them having alias
names within the file. And if this file is used in an RPG program, can I use
the alias field names inside the RPG instead of real field names? In COBOL, if
we do COPY DD- instead of COPY DDS-, we can get / use the alias names. Is there
any such thing in RPG and RPGLE? Sometime back one of my co-workers is
mentioning abt some way of using the alias field names in RPG programs. Is
there any Keyword or H-spec type of thing for this?? Can anyone explain me
this? TIA.

Regards,
Venu
