>> There are lots of good reasons to switch to ILE, but fears over IBM ending support for the OPM RPG and COBOL compilers in the near future are not among them, IMHO. True, but spreading that kind of rumor might get them off their behinds and at least moving to RPG IV in compatibility mode <g>. Roger - does this sound like a familiar refrain ? On a more serious note - you can switch to RPG IV _without_ going to ILE. The benefits are significant and well worth the few minor glitches you might experience. COBOL is a different matter. Mixing OPM and ILE COBOL is NOT a good idea. If you can switch the whole thing to ILE, it is not too much of a problem, trying to live with a mix is going to give you far more trouble than you want. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
