Setting your e-mail font to a fixed font like Courier lets the spacing be preserved for all of us. Most of the e-mailers have your normal font, but allow an alternate font that can be toggled easily. Setting that alternate to a fixed font lets you toggle back and forth effortlessly. The mailer I use has a small pressbutton on every page specifically for toggling the font. Very handy.
