A buddy of mine a few years back gutted a 5251-11 terminal that died. Then built a fish tank inside and had an IBM 5251-11 fish tank. Looked pretty cool! I forget how he got it set up to feed the fish etc., but it was definitely a conversation piece. I have a client who still has some 5251-11 terminals they got with their S/34 in early '82. They still work (unfortunately!) and have through all their upgrades of various S/36 and AS/400 models. But they are still on a 9402-200 running V3R2, so I don't know for sure they would work with a RISC machine. They are down to one or two of their original four 5251-11's; the fans in the other ones got too noisy although I think the terminals were otherwise working OK. The 5251's are now just kept as emergency spares. +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
