5251-11 do work on RISC systems. I converted a model 200 to a RISC model
600. They decided to leave the
boat-anchor attached as the consol as it kept people from using the console
for production work.

Lurton,

>I don't think an old 5250 model 11 terminal will work on an AS/400.

I have a client who still has some 5251-11 terminals they got with
their S/34 in early '82. They still work (unfortunately!) and have
through all their upgrades of various S/36 and AS/400 models. But
they are still on a 9402-200 running V3R2, so I don't know for sure
they would work with a RISC machine.

They are down to one or two of their original four 5251-11's; the fans
in the other ones got too noisy although I think the terminals were
otherwise working OK. The 5251's are now just kept as emergency
spares.
