Client access will transfer directly to Excel format.  If you choose to create 
.FDF (file definition file){the default}, you can
also transfer _to_ the AS/400 if the need is there.  Also look at Excel VB 
script that lets you "get" AS/400 database records
directly from AS/400 (just a more concise interface to the CA data transfer 
"engine").

Could anybody give suggestion on transferring an AS400 Database File to
PC in EXCEL or ACCESS format?
