RPG III (or RPG 400 if you prefer) is DEAD - the only 'enhancements' that will be made will be to allow it to handle/ignore any new data types that are added to the database - or any similar change that would be needed to prevent it from crashing and burning. Type defs have been considered for RPG IV but present a number of problems which did not arise in adding the support to COBOL.
