It's a toss up on speed. I've seen both arguments that say each is faster. As for size, RPG/IV objects may be a little bigger. CLLE objects will be larger than their CLP counterparts. As for memory, most likely RPG/IV will need more. Not for sure... But.... Maintenance will be so much easier as your code can be changed to be free format. If you plan on simply running the CVTRPGSRC command on all your programs and recompiling, I would wait until your software needs a rewrite to convert from RPG/III to RPG/IV. This way you can really make your code much more readable. Also, I have a tool that you can run after the CVTRPGSRC command to change your source to free-format expressions. It is a step towards rewriting, and makes the code more readable.
