Nina,

We use the 8235 as well.  I only have 4 modems out of the maximum 8 in it so 
I'm fine for a while if not forever.  If I were in search of another 8235, I 
would first try to find someone with stock of the 8235.  If that fails, I would 
stick to Shiva.  As you said, Shiva made the 8235 and it's a great product.
