Jim, The article that Leo pointed you towards is interesting. Look at the conclusion very carefully. This article says that you have recovery issues when using the text based FTP scripting proposed by this article (and by people like Julian Moneypenny or other solutions that may be promoted on this list). Any time you use text based FTP scripting you will not be able to take any recovery until after your session has ended. There are so many types of problems that we have seen pop up that I am certain that you will end up making modifications to your "post-session analysis program". Verification of the success of your transfer is important but the products listed in the article only work if used on both ends. The question that you need to ask yourself is "Do I slap in a cheap fling and pray solution or a reliable one?" Read this month's Midrange Computing Product Close-up of ZMOD FTP.Client on page 117. I do work for TrailBlazer and the majority of the companies who have purchased ZMOD FTP.Client did so because they are tired of maintaining programs and were looking for the verification not only on the file transfer, but every FTP command. I am not suggesting that writing your own solution won't work, but be prepared for long-term maintenance if you do.
