The standard way is to create a file, (often a source file), with all
of your FTP script in it. Then you 'pipe' this into FTP. You should
also 'pipe' the output received from the FTP session into a file. This
is good for diagnostic reasons, and also it will let the FTP command
end. A sample CL might contain:
PGM PARM(&RMTSYSTEM)
DCL VAR(&RMTSYSTEM) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(200)
OVRDBF FILE(INPUT) TOFILE(MYLIB/FTPSCRIPT)
OVRDBF FILE(OUTPUT) TOFILE(MYLIB/FTPOUTPUT)
FTP RMTSYS(&RMTSYSTEM)
DLTOVR FILE(INPUT)
DLTOVR FILE(OUTPUT)
CALL PGM(ANALYZER) /* Analyze FTP output */
ENDPGM

If this is the kankinsurance out of Ft Wayne, say hello to Clifford
Clarke from Rob Berendt. I miss seeing you guys at STATUS.
