In a word: you don't get around it! Whenever you end job QTCPIP which runs in subsystem QSYSWRK an implicit ENDTCP *IMMED is also performed. The reason the design works this way is that the QTCPIP job is a critical part of TCP/IP. It must be active to start or end a TCP/IP interface. If you ended the QTCPIP job but allowed TCP/IP to remain up, it would be running "crippled". So we do our best to not allow this to happen. -john martz tie 852-5539 IBM AS/400 TCP/IP PPP development (and stuff) Internet e-mail: jmartz@us.ibm.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
